EXCITING ANNOUNCEMENT!
We are adding Rhythmic gymnastics to our class programme here at SGA! We are delighted that highly experienced, former European Rhythmic Championship gymnast Monika will be heading up this discipline alongside her artistic coaching. Our Rhythmic classes will teach gymnasts to move gracefully with the five apparatus - the hoop, ribbon, ball, rope and clubs! From the age of 12 Monika was a member of the Hungarian junior national team, representing her country at many international competitions, including the European Championship in 1994. Monika then moved onto a successful coaching career here in the UK, with her rhythmic group qualifying for the British national finals, finishing in 5th place in the 2019 Espoir National Group League. Classes with Monika will take place on Saturdays 2.30-3.30pm, and a taster session on Saturday 4th March can be booked here: https://shrewsbury-gymnastics-academy.class4kids.co.uk/... There is no experience needed to get started, but a love of dance and creativity goes a long way! Come and join the fun!

National team SILVER MEDALLISTS at Classic Challenge Gold level!
Including two individual apparatus NATIONAL CHAMPIONS, and a further two BRONZE APPARATUS MEDALS!! A huge well done to Tewy, Evee, Lucie and Zoe who worked as an incredible team today in Surrey representing the West Midlands. They took the silver medal in the highest category (Gold), at the Classic Challenge National Championships! With only four gymnasts in their team (as opposed to 6 in others), they had to count every score, with no room for major errors to try and earn their spot on the podium, and they did just that! What an achievement for the girls who have stepped up a level this year! Zoe is also the Vault National Champion! finishing 4th overall, 6th on bars and 4th on floor. Lucie is the floor National Champion! finishing 6th overall. Evee also took on both beam and floor as the National Bronze medallist! Finishing 10th AA & taking the award for the most memorable performance on the floor. With Tewy taking an impressive 13th AA, all four girls therefore finished in the top 15 in the country! A huge thank you to coaches Sian and Fay who supported the girls at the comp and in the lead up, and to their coach Olivia who coached in the gym until two days before having her baby boy and had to watch from home! A huge team effort from all coaches and our parents and supporters! #SGAfamily #gymnastics #gym #gymnast #nationals #ClassicChallenge #WestMidlands #Shrewsbury #gold #team #proud
